Q&A with SANTA!

Welcome to our next Q&A! This interview is featuring the one, the only Santa!

Santa knows all things Phantom so hopefully this is the perfect insight for you.

First of all - what's your favourite Phantom beer so far?

Well C is for Christmas of course. Ho-Ho-Hopefully that comes back next year. I am also partial to Teal and Frico Friday.

What about favourite beer name from Phantom?

Yule do the maths, I guess yule guys aren’t ready for that yet, can I keep yule….

After that, Huge Pitch Project came from a random word generator and Drain the blood were some highlights.

What style of beer do you want to see more of?

I mistle-totally would love more milk stouts and carrot cake sours. What I would love to see more of is diversity in abv on tap. Having a whole range of 0.5% - 10% available.

Custard Creams or Bourbons?

Custard Creams for the day, Bourbons for a nighttime snack. Both covered in chocolate.

You’re creating a playlist for The Haunt, who has to be on it?

Stuff that gets your toe tapping. Step into Christmas, white Christmas, Jingle Bell Rock the classics. I refuse to listen to Last Christmas, it makes me think I may be out of a job soon! Though we are pop punk fans at heart so either anything in that genre or pure pop classics of the 90’s and 00’s.

Do you have any fun facts you could share?

I sure do, did you know that a Panther chameleons sheds its skin 7 times quicker than a human.

How many cats have appeared on Phantom Cans?

57 and counting

What comes first beer name or recipe?

A bit of both really. A lot of the time there is something we want to give a try to see if improves/changes the beers in a positive way so will have that idea and then need to name the beer. Other times the idea of a can label comes first and then its getting a beer to go with it. For example, Double Denim, Trio, Second Best Friend all had design ideas passed onto our fantastic designer @thomasgutts and then the recipe followed.

What were Phantom’s first beer name/ideas?

Well two of our beers came from the homebrew days. Ball Pit is a recipe that has stayed the same ever since first being brewed in a garage in Portsmouth in 2019. The other one is Punch Drunk which was the first ever beer we submitted to a homebrew competition and a name that has made an appearance a few times over the years.

Name the best Quality Street, Roses, Celebration and Heroes.

Ro – Orange Cream

Ce – Galaxy Caramel

He - Creme Egg Twisted

What beer destination is top of your list to visit?

Luckily I visit a lot of places though only for a short period of time one evening a year. We go so fast I have to hold on for deer life. Ashville, North Carolina is somewhere I would like to spend some time however.
