Bar Manager - Full Time, 40 hr week
Salary £25k-£30k (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join our team as we open our new bar in Henley-on-Thames. All staff are ambassadors of our brand and ethos as a brewery – the Henley-on-Thames site will be an expansion of this, serving a constantly changing range of our newest beers on tap and in the fridge. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing within the hospitality sector and a passion for craft beer. We’re looking for someone that works creatively and is driven to implement new ideas, constantly improving standards. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the bar
  • Ongoing management of staff recruitment, training and rota scheduling
  • Developing the team and improving their skills 
  • Leading by example and ensuring all team members are providing industry leading service to every customer
  • Ensuring staff are familiar with current beers on tap and in the fridge
  • Full management of your P&L
  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies
  • Managing inventory (Phantom and guest), beer lines, cold store and stock rotation
  • Maintaining POS systems
  • Organising and running events alongside the wider Phantom Brewing Co team
  • Weekly reporting into the Brewery General Manager
  • Ensuring all relevant health and safety, licensing and safeguarding requirements are met at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience within the craft beer industry
  • Strong customer facing skills to build rapport and engage with customers
  • Ability to work individually, and as part of a team whilst still managing the staff
  • Strong personal management skills
  • Staff management experience – effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Enthusiasm and a keenness to engage with the wider brewery team in Reading
  • Flexibility on working hours – weekend working will be required 
  • Ability to be agile and make decisions on the running of the team/site when needed
  • Personal Licence holder
  • Minimum 2 year’s experience in management in the hospitality sector
